Am I too old or too young to rent a car?

Now you might wonder what should you do in case you are below 25 years of age and still want to rent a car for a trip. There are many companies which offer car rentals to underage drivers with some riders. These riders could be:
Increased rent
Restriction on the vehicle being rented out. This means that certain big vehicle will not be rented out to underage renter. There can also be restriction on the type of vehicle e.g. mini vans or multi utility vehicles.
Asking for extra insurance. This is an extra insurance over and above the personal auto insurance that you usually take. This insurance cost is added to your personal auto insurance premium if you opt for this extra cover. This is called car rental age insurance and can help you get a car at cheaper rates as per the arrangement of your car rental company with your insurance company.
Prior arrangement with the company which the renter works for can fetch you good rental deals. Many companies have arrangement with rental companies to waive off any underage charges. So if your company has any such arrangement with a particular vendor then you should go for it.
If you are government personnel then the car company relaxes the age limit to 18 years, in case you are renting the vehicle for official business. However, if it is a personal trip even then there is an age relaxation to 21 years even thought the rental may be higher?
These age limits are different for different countries and should be referred to before renting out a car.
